Please explain "1/2s shutter speed" video - Panasonic GH1 & micro4/3 Community forum on Vimeo

By reading about photoremote I've discovered that the panasonic GH1 does support PTP, which is a protocol that I do have access to on the Mac. I believe there are some generic mac programs that can be scripted to work, or if necessary I can write one myself.

Now I need to discover which features of PTP are fully supported, and whether if PTP doesn't work out whether the other USB protocols the camera supports might allow what I want.

Even if I can't change exposure settings, being able to trigger an image being captured over PTP will allow me to dynamically change the interval. Plus, no worries about exceeding the SD card capacity for very long shoots as PTP sends the picture over USB to the computer.

Importantly, it comes with source code, so anyone who wants to hack it can. It does support PTP capture for as an intervalometer right out of the box, which is just what I want.
